Public Relations Writing In PR Writing I learned how to conduct and apply research in my writing of various content for a variety of media channels. I also learned how to write for diverse audiences and how to assess the effectiveness of those writings. Public Relations Publications In PR Publications I learned how to use popular software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. With this software, I was able to effectively use space and formatting to construct PR messages that can be understood by various publics. Advertising Research In Advertising Research I learned how to conduct proper research using quantitative and qualitative means. I distributed thousands of surveys, analyzed the results, and was able to use them to create a campaign to significantly impact the target audience. Advertising Copy and Layout In Ad Copy and Layout I again used Photoshop to create visually powerful messages for certain publics. I learned type terminology and the fundamentals of design. These lessons prepared me for putting together posters, magazines, and websites. |
Writing for the Mass Media In Writing for the Mass Media I learned the basics of communication and how and why certain channels are more effective for certain messages and key publics. These basics provided me with the knowledge necessary to understand more complex PR needs. Expository Writing In Expository Writing my focus was on Fashion & Identity. I learned about how fashion, throughout history, expressed diverse issues of the times. I also learned how to approach these issues through multiple stages of writing and revising. Critical Reading and Writing In Critical Reading and Writing I learned how to discuss and present complex topics to a large group. I also learned how to write persuasively and creatively while using an abundance of examples from the text to illustrate my arguments. Social Psychology In Social Psychology I learned about peoples' inner needs and wants and how they are effected by their social groups. This class allowed me to explore social phenomenons in depth. I was also able to analyze why people act and think the way they do and what role others play in their behavior. |
